Start a session with your client

This guide will show you how to start a pre-booked one-on-one personal training session with your client using GoXPro. This same process applies to all types of bookings, including massage appointments, client assessments, or group classes.
Easy Steps
The Today page consolidates all of today's and tomorrow's bookings from your calendar and arranges them in an easy-to-navigate format. This is where you'll start all your sessions and client assessments.
Scroll down to find the booking scheduled for today at 3:45 pm. Before starting the session, you can view additional client information and record their body weight if needed.
Click the arrow next to the client’s booking to open a panel with additional client information.
Click to see a session count of done versus paid sessions, as well as agreed sessions (sessions signed in a contract but not yet paid).
In this section, you can view your client's session count and payment history, including which trainer conducted each session and which invoice it’s tied to.
If you track regular weigh-ins, click here to record the client's body weight and track it over time. The app also shows how many days it’s been since their last weigh-in.
Enter your client's body weight in the provided space and click 'Save.' Changes in weight will be automatically calculated and displayed.
Back on the Today screen, we’re ready to begin the personal training session. Click the 'Start' button.
If your session is scheduled to begin outside the 10-minute window of the current time, check the box to allow early session start.
After confirming the time, click 'Start Session' to begin.
If the client has multiple programs assigned, this step lets you choose which program to use for this session. GoXPro will default to the scheduled program, but you can switch if necessary.
Your session is now started, and the correct program is open on your device. You can begin coaching your client and recording reps and sets.
Click the 'Set Done' button to log reps and weights for each set, ticking them off as complete. You can also click 'All Sets Done' to mark all sets for the exercise as finished, or skip an exercise if necessary.
Click the next exercise you want to perform. If this is part of a superset, GoXPro will automatically move you through the sets of each exercise.
Click the 'History' button at the top right of the exercise to view the client’s exercise history, including how they performed in previous sessions.
This screen shows details about which program the exercise was part of, the number of reps, weights used, and equipment. You can also show the client their progress in each exercise over time. You can filter by Solo Sessions, Coached Sessions, or view both with the C&S button.
During a session, you can add, replace, delete, or move exercises within the program. To access the menu, hold down on an exercise for half a second on mobile, or right-click on a PC/Mac.
Once you finish the session, it is automatically recorded in the client’s session count. To exit, click the button at the top left of the page.
From the Sessions tracker tab, you can view your client's progression in each exercise, either in coached sessions, solo sessions, or a combination of both. Click any session tile to explore further.
In a Multi-Week Program, the session tracker displays progress in a calendar format. Use the filters above the calendar to view specific activity types.
From the client’s app, they can view their progress in every exercise, including their personal bests. Clients can share their results on social media, and as their coach, your name will appear in the post. Great for third-party marketing!
